I find lots of threads about pads, but not how to get the clips in. I have this pad from summit and it is of poor quality over speaker areas. Another problem is metal where you are supposed to install clips seems buried and inaccessible. I tried to bend a tab on one clip and it broke. Do I need to cut most of that out?

Thanks,
-Dan

I’m assuming this is correct? The short tab goes into slot right under it?

Very carefully and then try to keep them from popping out when installing the dash. Iirc I bent a couple so they clipped into the dash pad tighter.
Thanks, I ended up having to dig in at an angle and rotate them in. Oh, and lots of trimming urethane.

I feel like things somehow got worse after Holley bought them.

Do not expect an aftermarket pad to fit perfectly. Close is as good as you can get it. Expectations reduce joy.
