Wish I could help but I've not seen that before. I like it though!

My 80 had that on it. I thought I saw a replacement for it on LMC, but I'm not 100% sure

It was used on the Cheyenne and Silverado type trim levels from '73-'80. Last I knew, nobody reproduced it yet.

@Powerhouse Ranch,

See if you can get yours off and polish it. It's stainless steel and will shine up nicely. Or you might tape off the hood there and polish it in place. I'm sure you've thought of this.

They are plastic like the chrome strip around the windshield.

I am also looking for this piece. My truck is a Silverado and it came with it from factory. The coating over the silver has turned yellow. I do not know if the silver is plastic or thin aluminium or stainless. I have been looking every where for one. I see plenty for Camaro's, Chevelle's etc, but I do not know if they will be long enough. OR........has anyone successfully restored this piece. If so, please share what you did to get the coating off.

well, i was in a pinch and was able to find some cheap parts store trim. I got the 1", there's even some that will curve around your hood. I had put this on my truck for temporary for a car cruise, but had kept it on because it is a good replacement. Only problem is that i see a little bit of old glue residue from the cab on the inner lip, but only i'll see that.

But i have also searched and searched and searched and it is indeed a rarity. Best hope is 1 in a 1,000,000 ebay post or a swap meet. Couldn't find anything good online OEM or replacement for the Squares. . . :(

Not sure why they have not reproduced this piece. There were plenty of Silverado's, Blazer's and Suburban's that had that trim package. Next week I am going to my favorite boneyard to see if, by chance, one is hanging out on a hood that looks really good and just waiting for me to find it and give it a good home. Also going to get some of the white door panel attachments. I ordered a "replacement" and it isn't the same dimensions so will not go in the slot. :confused:

if you do find one, the trick will be getting it off. Well at least mine was super glued on, if the one you'll be getting off is factory you might not have a problem

Cant someone just use bulk / universal molding you can buy online to do this? Its a common door edge, panel edge addition and can be had in various sizes.

I had to look at an actual photo graph to see my original hood without walking outside(its cold :( ) and I was right, my truck had the molding on the hood. Well it still is there, but its not on the truck. If you wanted a used molding then I have one thats not busy
also here is a photo circa 2007 or so of my square
