I had a terible time trying to figure out the temp unit on one of my trucks while back. I ended up going through engine pile and putting in a used one. Im guessing they are not looking up a R series truck. look up one for a 87 and see what it looks like.

That's the temp sensor in the intake that the ECM uses. The gauge sender is in the cylinder head, it's the one with one wire.

both senders are in both head . for the guage between 1/3 for the cts between 2/4 there is none on the intake

This style correct - the connector pushes on perpendicular to the post?

Harder and harder to find.

AC Delco part number is:

213-80

Might be easiest to go to a JY and pull a couple.

Comes in 2 pipe sizes (3/8" & 1/2")

Oh yeah, I nearly punched a parts counter guy in the face once because of that. He kept insisting that a temp switch and a temp sender did the same thing, that was after he tried to sell me a MAP sensor when I wanted an intake temp sensor (TPI).
