Wait, so opening the WHOLE window doesn't let air blow around in the truck, but opening the vent windows do?

Yup. Not right in your face anyway. But, I usually have to roll the window up at highway speeds too. I'm not gonna argue the physics of air movement, I'm just telling my experience.

No thanks. If I wanted mine to look like a super duty I'd buy a ford.

Too bad there's no way to eliminate the black part and have the two arms attach directly to the oem base. It would let the vent open and look way better.

I like my stock mirrors and I like my wing windows too. All my trucks have excellent airflow and AC really isn't needed unless it's city driving, except the dually, but airflow is still good. Burbs are great with vents open, windows down, and tailgate glass rolled down. C10 is great with the windows down, vents open, rear slider open, and sunroof open. The K5 in incredible... windows, tailgate glass, rear sliders, rear wings, and front wings.

And I can see just fine to back up in all of them with the stock mirrors:)

I love the stock paddle mirrors. The only reason I'm looking for tow mirrors is for pulling a camper. Stock mirrors don't cut it for that.

The mirror glass on that blue truck posted above isn't any bigger than the factory tripod mirrors on my crew cab. They just have the bulging modern plastic housing that makes them look big. Heck, I think the glass on the paddle mirrors are almost as big too.

Yea, but those extend out 4-5 inches

i think if done properly you could have them out far enough to have the wing window open.
maybe move the mount forward or back an inch or 2.

They'd probably look better all black instead of having the chrome cap and chrome base, with the little bit of black in the middle.

i wonder if these in a power mirror form would work better and allow for the wing window to open all the way...

those mirrors look horrible when on a truck. a friend of mine put them on his dually thinking that they would look around the giant headache rack of his flatbed and they sucked. he ended up with the big 5 point mirrors that mount above and bellow hte window.
