Yep, being he's already got the manual choke carb, that's exactly what I'd do.
He will find it much simpler to install, no adjustment BS, and really, it's very easy to operate and much much more dependable than Auto Choke.

Is trhat one of them that it is advisable to mash the footfeed all the way to the floor "BEFORE" giving the choke cable a pull ??????:hat:

I don't think a single one of my chokes work correct on any of my squares. pump them a couple of times and all them seem to start fairly quick, and idle right off. unless temp is below 20* it's never a problem here. Funny tho no one else can ever get them to start here since most of my help is used to fuel injection.

My old hot air choke doesn't work perfect, but it works fine. Two pumps, light her up, idles a touch rough for a few seconds, then fast n smooth til you kick it down.

YEP, I agree. Those chokes are a bitch and a PITA. I'd rather just do the manual chole pull. Eihter that, convert to TBI, TPI or Sequential Vortec Injection.
I'd like to anyway on my 4x4's to be Injected, then you can also add an electric start to them too.
