Clutch switch pigtail

So the OCD part of me kicked in. I looked in my shop manual and I think I found your part number if this is considered a neutral safety switch. GM 8917548. Of course it's discontinued, there is one on ebay right now.

That IS the correct plug for the switch the OP posted in the #1 post. It is also used on the wiper motor, FYI.

For the connector shown, I would say yes, but I'm making an assumption because my truck is an auto. The picture I posted of the wiring diagram is out of my '85 GM shop manual.

I think I just realized why this thread isn't adding up. The picture of that switch is for an 85-87 with the hydraulic setup. If the trans swap is for the 84 dually in your signature then you are looking for the earlier parts like PrarieDrifter and AuroraGirl posted. In that case you don't even need plugs, just use insulated female terminals and stickem on the spade terminals.

Now then- IF you're putting the 85-87 pedals in the 84 than that switch is correct and here's some pics of how it looks together and the pigtail.

Thanks for all the replies and pictures. Things starting to show some clarity and some confusion. Think the pedals came out of a 87(been a few months). interesting that the same plug is for the wiper switch. Local pick and pull has several squarebody's and the plug should be a easy find.

Thanks for the photos. I was trying to put the switch on the wrong side of the pedal and with the self adjusting part of the switch towards the firewall.

I think I got the switch installed correctly. Are both sides of this switch normal open? The wiper connector only fits in one side. I'm glad I kept all the old connectors when I rewired the truck.
