I put a new one in my 85 when I converted from auto. LMC sells them new. After a few months I bypassed the POS. I hate that thing. The self adjusting feature is horrible. It adjusts to the maximum pedal travel regardless of when the clutch disengages. So plan on over extending the pressure plate every time you start it.

I'll never install the damn things, especially won't make em work lol

mainly need it for the cruise control but nice to have clutch safety switch. kinda figured that self adjusting stuff might create problems. let me know if you have any. Thanks

Were you looking for the switches as well? Will get back to you Monday, for sure Tuesday night. I'll just snatch em out, if they're there so i could get them out by the end of the week for sure.

I don't make any of the cruise control systems work either haha, I'm a creature of simplicity lol

I would also love to find a part number for the connector. I am going through this as well but cannot figure out how the switch is supposed to mount so I've bypassed the switch for now.

The tab on the side (with the round hole) in it mounts to the metal pedal assembly with a bolt. The "arm" on the end with the 90 degree bend goes thru the clutch pedal arm. The upper "port" is for the neutral safety plug and the bottom port is for the cruise control plug. The plugs are separate, not combined into one.

It will help greatly to know that the NSS plug is the same plug as the windshield wiper motor plug (1 of the 2). There are a million more of those around than the clutch plug (85-87 Hydraulic clutch only). The wires are different color but you will be splicing the pigtail in anyways.

I have one laying on my bench that I just pulled out of mine. Didn't take long to realize how much much I hate the D**B switch. The self adjusting feature of it sucks big time. As said earlier. it sets at the lowest position that you push the clutch pedal. You will EVENTUALLY, on purpose or not push the pedal all the way to the floor. After that, you MUST push it ALL the way to the floor every time you start it. In mine, that over extends the clutch diaphragm and puts excessive stress on the clutch slave cylinder.

I will mention that you cant get to the switch without removing the cover around the steering column and pulling out the plastic AC duct that feeds the D/S vent. It is a total PITA! Enjoy.

I think that lines up with what I was trying to do. I was putting the 90° part through a hole in the clutch pedal arm from the brake pedal side of the pedal arm. I could not find a matching hole that lined up on the pedal assembly though. And no bolt to go with it to go with it.

I have to tear apart the dash again anyway. The new carquest ignition switch only works about half the time.

So the OCD part of me kicked in. I looked in my shop manual and I think I found your part number if this is considered a neutral safety switch. GM 8917548. Of course it's discontinued, there is one on ebay right now.

eBay Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275094311219

The connector originally was a Delphi Pack-Con II, then Aptiv and now it is under the Mouser Brand. Mouser adds a "0" in front of the part number

Here a Link to the data sheet for that Mouser part number: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/105/PCKHS05928_1-2512358.pdf

GM shows that part is for a 1984-1987 Chevrolet Cavalier, but the eBay listing is for a 82-88 Chevy F Body. So I don't know what correct. Hopefully this helps your search.

I found a website recently that makes every connector gm ever produced. Had it saved and then my laptop crashed. I'll see if I can't find it again.

No pigtails to be found in my trucks. One is hacked up and one is bare bones. I have just the two neutral safety switches I believe.

I forgot what year this was for.. but perhaps the clutch switch can be used as input to the cruise switch in addition to the movement of the brake pedal? I guess im not sure how the wiring is looking to use these switches which the one you have is a combination?

I think I just realized why this thread isn't adding up. The picture of that switch is for an 85-87 with the hydraulic setup. If the trans swap is for the 84 dually in your signature then you are looking for the earlier parts like PrarieDrifter and AuroraGirl posted. In that case you don't even need plugs, just use insulated female terminals and stickem on the spade terminals.

Now then- IF you're putting the 85-87 pedals in the 84 than that switch is correct and here's some pics of how it looks together and the pigtail.

That IS the correct plug for the switch the OP posted in the #1 post. It is also used on the wiper motor, FYI.
