Chrome side molding

I getting ready to order some chrome side molding for my truck from LMC. Was wondering if anybody had any tips and tricks, as to getting it on nice and straight?

Never put this on, but had a vinyl letter businesses and did several police units with stripes. We always attached a string from back to front and used it as a guide.

Measure off the body line. The string tip, or tape will work too. I have done some pin striping and as long as you stay true to the body line it will be fine.

String a line and use 1" blue painters tape. Apply the chrome trim along the blue tape edge.

Doesn't the moulding just follow along the body lines?

I guess the hard part would be drilling the holes for the clips to go in but if you made a reverse template you could probably do it.

The trim from LMC doesn't have clips. It's just sticky.

The corner trim pieces, right under the tail lights are the only ones that cave clips. I put in my order with LMC, later today/tomorrow I'm gonna do the painters tape across the body, and see if I can get it on straight.

Yeah use the painters tape method. Crooked molding will stick out like a sore thumb. What are you going to use to cut the molding at the door/fender/bed joints? I see sometimes they are cut on an angle, like a 45*.
