Center dash speaker options?

For double din you usually have a mounting sleeve that bolts into the cutout in the dash. Then you slide a double din head unit into it like it’s the drawer in a file cabinet, and it locks in place. There are adapters to fit a single sized head unit into a double din opening.

Make sure you keep track of the flat keys you slide in on the side of the head unit to unlock it again. They look like flat pieces of scrap metal, but are shaped exactly right to push the tabs.

could you post pics here of how you installed the 4x 3.5" speakers in your dash?

Sure thing! Here are some pictures from the install.

The corner speakers are new 3.5” Kickers in the original factory mounts. In the center of the dash, I dremeled four small holes that let me mount two additional 3.5” Kickers speakers; the left ties in with the left corner speaker and the right with the right, which kept wiring pretty simple. Dash cover lays flat on top of everything, and I have been very happy with the audio quality.

The new system is a Long Beach Retrosound, four Kicker 3.5” speakers (DS350) across the dash, two Kenwood 4”x10” speakers in the rear, and a Kicker 10” subwoofer under the driver’s seat.

I sharpied a rough diagram of what I did on the dash just in case I revisit the sound system in 2050 or so. Hope this helps!

Just ordered the installation kit! Totally going to be worth it! 25$ but now it brings me to my next dash issue. I'm going to fix my speedo finally. Going to put in a mechanical speedo to keep it simple. But some modifications will be needed. Because it's a fode transfer case. Has both mechanical and electrical piggy backed. Wonder if I could get it to jive with my electric speedo? That would be easiest if it was that simple.

new to the site and not sure where to post pictures in a place where it would be most helpful for the overall GMSB community, but I installed a retro-modern stereo, four 3.5" speakers across the front dash, two 4"x10" speakers in the back, and a subwoofer under the driver seat earlier this year- happy to share if helpful. good luck!

I received my pieces parts today. Plastics seem to be good quality. Destructions look good and are in correct language too! Well worth the money!
