Good warning @bucket for everyone.
It’s literally everywhere.
Selling the Camaro a couple months ago was full of ‘em.
There were a few that I got hooked and strung them along. Start out acting dumb to keep their interest and then respond with increasingly silly or ridiculous responses. More fun than just deleting or telling them to FO right away. Even more fun when you actually upset them and they start arguing with you!

If you look at GMSB members you find thousands of new members with few or no posts. This seems to me to be a big security risk. They should be removed as members. There’s got to be a way to do that other than 1 at a time, as the moderators don’t have the time to do it that way.
I brought that up a while back. Page after page of new members with zero posts. I was looking up a member's name so I could tag them, and that's when I saw there is easily a 1000 or more newbs with zero posts

I second everything that has already been said.
I have personally experienced such attempted scams three or more times.
And by an apparently well known and respected forum member. Or an impersonator. Not sure which.

Just a notice, I edited my original post because I do not want newer members to feel unwelcome or like they are not part of the community. Everyone just needs to be cautious of the potential of a scam.

I'm that old guy that doesn't know how to post pics but I do know how to identify a scammer and welcome the challenge. Game on.

Shout out to @bucket :
Thank you sir for "kick'n it".

For my "Intake Breather wanted" post, I got a PM that said, hey I know this guy parting out an old Chevy car." And it gave me an email. So, I emailed the guy last night and he replies this morning. I ask for photos of both top and bottom of body and lid. I also state that payment will be via US Postal Money order. He replies with 1 photo and a $200+ price. Well me being the "tight ***, skin flint that I am, said pass. But inbetween these emails, I asked @bucket to see if there is anything fishy with either of these names.
Bingo and sure enuf there was. And @bucket dished out some "boot".

Honestly, I didn't have any true indication that something was a-miss until I read this thread and afterwards was when I reached out to @bucket.

These ba$tard$ are really slick. And I'm a suspecious bugger and almost got burnt.
