Caulking In Bed

Can anyone tell me what type the caulking is on the inside of the bed and where I can buy some?

We used NP1. Got it in a bunch of colors at Lowe’s about $7 a tube. Used it on cab floor repair sealing top and bottom and bed seams before rhino lining. It’s been over a year and we are water tight everywhere and no cracking even in Texas heat.

I agree with the 3M seam sealer recommendation, my Dad recommends 3M Fast 'N Firm (08505) but I haven't used that one yet. I have used a few tubes of 3M Urethane (08362) and have been very pleased with it.

When you talk about seam sealer and 3m it is like going to baskin robbins for ice cream. Their product range is huge and they have a flavor or two for every application. Read the labels and make sure you get the one for your usage.

I used 3M 5200 marine. You can normally find it at you big box stores. I use it because it doesn't dry as fast as the automotive seam seal, so you time to come back and smooth it out if needed.

I dodn't seal my seams when I put it back together. Guess it could come back to bit me but I figured water will just pass through and not get trapped.

No, it will just trap crap and try to rust. Not your truck likely since it looks like a garage queen, but that’s why the seams in the bed are sealed.

I’m sure it works great. I feel it’s basically the same stuff as auto seam sealer, having used both, as both are urethane sealant. Never looked to see if 5200 is paintable though as I’ve only used it in marine applications.

That said, the few different urethane seam sealers I’ve used did not cure too quick to smooth out.
Fwiw inside of bed was never smoothed out from the factory. Just a continuous bead.
