However what I don't like is once I'm driving the truck, cut it off, let it sit for a while then truck doesn't start right up.... I have to pump the gas a few times to get it to start.... I don't understand why it's that. Do y'all think it's because it's a carbureted system and now fuel injection?
It's heat soak and the ethanol gas. Get the Edelbrock 4 hole phenolic spacer. It comes with new gaskets and studs. The metal braided hose/cover on the fuel line and filter location isn't doing you any favors either.

Truck looks good. What size rear tire is that?

So you think the braided fuel line is causing more heat and it's soaking my gas up with the heat???

Biggest issue is the carb getting heat soaked in my experience. Get the spacer.

I have a Quadrajet with a four hole spacer and it’s tuned the best I could do myself. If it’s only been sitting a couple of days I just pump it twice, and hit the switch and it starts right up. If it’s been sitting for a week or more I may have to give a 2nd round of two pumps, probably because all the fuel had evaporated in the float bowl and the pump had to refill it. If weather is cold (below about 40) I will have to let it idle for a few minutes before driving away

For a warm start I just jump in and hit the ignition. If I pump it first when its warm it will usually flood out and not start until I let it crank long enough to clear out the flood.

Q:
Is it possible after my warm start, and when I go to restart, that I'm flooded, and that's why it doesn't start right up... because I do have to crank long before it starts
What could cause it to flood after a warm start
