Can Anyone Get a Paint Code From a VIN?

Can someone get a paint code from a VIN, please?

I've settled on a color and got the info from a truck at a dealer (online).

2018 Silverado
3GCUKREC2JG196443
DEEP OCEAN BLUE METALLIC

Now I just hope it wont be $1000 qt. :rotfl:

A dealership can't give you the paint code for a current model?

I haven't been by the dealer yet.

A friend told me today that he'd checked on it for one of his projects and it was real expensive because there's pearl in it. If that's the case it's out for me, I want reasonable and durable not show.
