I want to build a stand to sit my cab on so I can wheel it around in the garage and get more room to work with the frame. Anyone built something like this or have any ideas what would work? A picture or two would be helpful if you have something.

I work by myself a lot in the garage and moving this cab around alone is impossible so I am hoping to make it easier to do. Bonus points if it considers laying it down so I can work on the floor pans or paint under it.

My dad built a steel cart on casters that would be good for this. He used it to put a fuselage on, but it could be adapted. These are the only pics I have, but they should give you an idea. If you want to borrow it, you’re more than welcome. The plane went to the scrapper. You’re a bit far, though.

I just put some casters on a pallet. Worked well for moving around the shop, but floorpan repair would be a challenge.

I used some 2x4's and casters to build a cart that runs under the cab supports and in the rear to small jackstands (4x4 posts would work too)

Also my engine hoist cab lift, A beam made from construction lumber, basically a wood 'C' channel and uses the bolt hole that the chain normally uses, works pretty good and doesn't mangle anything like a chain might.

Did it not try to fall over? The furniture dolly sounds like a narrow base to work with. My cab still has the glass in it so it's a bit top heavier than a stripped one.

I just put some casters on a pallet. Worked well for moving around the shop, but floorpan repair would be a challenge.

This sounds the simplest and may be what I do.

@TravisB it didn’t because the 4x4s laying across it roughly the same length as the pallets
Mine had the Glass in as well
In fact I removed it on that little contraption

Okay I was picturing using the 4bys as stilts. I think I get it now.
