Whats the difference between cab mounts for say, 73-80 and 85-87? Still looking for rubber body mounts. Found them for 73-80 but not for my 85.

Had a set on order - paid for - for 3+ months from USA1 and canceled it. Totally done with that place.

My originals are actually in pretty nice shape. I could have the hardware all replated and use the original rubber. 36yr old Plan B.

They are different, but you can replace them with the 73 - 80 style, as long as you replace ALL of them.

From what I've seen the 70's ones seem to be taller, at least my eyeballs said so at the time lol. At least on the examples I've looked at briefly.

When I replaced cab mounts on my ‘75 K25 the truck got incredibly quieter. That’s when I realized that the old mounts had collapsed so far that the cab had been resting on the transfer case and transmitting driveline noise into the cab.

I agree with you on USA1 took 3 months to get an order. CarParts is the same show you a good deal but nothing is in stock.

There are a slew of other places to get cab mounts, Brothers, LMC, Summit Racing etc. etc. Classic industries also

I went to energy suspension for my cab bushings.

LMC seems to be the best I've found so far for having things in stock and then following up with what isn't. Started an order with Brothers once but 1/2 was out of stock there too. USA1 got to be like pulling teeth for info that was never accurate anyways. Their feedback across the i-net isn't that great with 95% of the bad reviews from people who waited months and got/heard nothing.

But I'm still really curious as to what the difference is between the older and newer mounts. The kits have fewer pieces on the 73-80 (why?) - the 81-83 and 84-87 both have the same higher number of pieces. 81-83 is in stock and the others aren't.

The LMC ones look the most like the stock design. The link Big Chip sent is what I'll go with if I cant figure what the difference is. Will wait for rubber either way.
