Looking for input on replacement amber marker lights that fit the roof contour of my 1980 Crew. Have a set of Ford ractory replacement but the holes necessary to mount them for the connector are hideously large.

Trucklite makes direct marker light replacement assemblies. 1313A is the part number. That includes everything.

Here's the placement of the OEM light. FYI the outers are canted outward.

The OEM light requires a fairly large hole for the socket too. You might want to look into some newer LED lights and see if there's anything on the market that requires less drilling.

OTOH, I put the OE lights on my Suburban and never had any issues with leaks or anything else for that matter.

Checked the dealer? I got new lenses for mine and they weren't expensive at all. That was around a decade ago though.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073Y28WZV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i bought this kit, and the lenses are great and it is perfectly fine....

except the rubber seal puts the lightbulb in a stupid ass location. It mounts the lights pointed forward so the marker is probably brighter but you cant see the light in the back of the housing.... versus the factory has them straight up.
So I reused the old seals, used 1 new sockt that rusted out, cleaned up the rubber seals and rejuvinated them slightly, and reinstalled them.

You're actually not supposed to see the light in the rear. I know in California the law does not authorize amber light to the rear for parking/running lights.

Here's my OEM lense. As you can see, they are painted black on the rear. I installed GM replacements, but they did not come painted black. I'm thinking I will used Plastic dip to painted the rear section.

I have never seen them with the back blacked out. In America I don’t think they did that.

My truck has always been a California truck and was off the road for at least 10 to 12 years before I bought it. Maybe it a California thing due to the law. The only reason my truck has cab lights is due to the fact the D60 is wider than 80" and in California anything wider than that requires clearance lights.

I have seen numerous trucks over the years with the black backs. When I purchased the new lenses the Truck Shop had the option of buying the black style. Unfortunately, they only had three left in GM boxes, so I had to go with the all Amber. Both are Signal-Stat brand.

I wish I would’ve got the part number for them.

The black is a california only thing. California wanted only red showing from the back of a vehicle.
