Hey there, new to the platform and need advice. I was just gifted a 1983 GMC C15 step side for me and my son to restore together. I’ve decided to go with a Blueprint 383 crate motor but I’m trying to decide if upgrading to the accessory drive option is worth it. The truck originally came with AC but whoever owned it took off the compressor and hoses among other components I’m sure I haven’t identified yet. The problem is that the crate motor comes with the compressor on the passenger side when the original was on the drivers side. Has anyone run into this issue and if so how did you solve it? Trying to decide if it’d be better to just get the motor without the compressor and do a vintage air kit instead since I don’t know everything I’m missing from the AC system, maybe y’all can help me identify that. Here’s pics of my current engine and the crate engine I’m looking at. Any help is appreciated.

You can get A/C hoses made to match up. The trick is to have the mating A/C manifold to compressor.

From the picture you send, it looks like all accessory belts come with engine, I don't think clearance will be an issue between the inner fender and the compressor on the passenger side. Find a shop that makes and install custom AC lines, they can make that hoses to match up all your lines very easily.

What transmission are you putting behind that stroker engine....Does it suggest a higher than stock stall converter???
