This is the old style. This truck doesn't have them, but I have one that does have them, and they'll get swapped over before I get this one running again.
Yours looks to have a 4 link style.

Im not real knowledgeable on the GM A body stuff, but that certainly is a car setup and a 10 bolt car rear.

What is the lug pattern? GM cars should be 5x4.75”

I would suggest going over to the stovebolt forum and asking those old boys what they do with their old trucks for enhanced rear suspension. You'll get some good answers for sure. Just don't start off like you did here, or you'll get raked over the coals pretty bad.

Not trying to get rid of you. You have a cool project and it would be nice to see it progress in the "Other Vehicle" section of this forum. The stovebolt forum is mainly trucks older than 1970, although they now have a "Round Line" section that is specifically squarebody trucks. They said the 73-87 trucks are named round line, and named the sub-forum accordingly. Very knowledgeable bunch over there regarding old trucks and vehicles in general. Just like here, just typically older over there.

Thanks for all your help guys. It’ll be good to finally get to know what I have. Appreciate it!

What you have there is some kinda bastard child. That's a '47-53 Chevy 3100 half ton (also known as an "AD" for Advanced Design, GM's name for them when they came out) on what appears to be a '68-72 GM A-body chassis. Chevy Malibu/Chevelle, Pontiac Lemans/Tempest/GTO, Buick Skylark and Oldsmobile Cutlass/442 all shared that chassis. You do not have a truck chassis under there my friend.

It won't haul any heavy loads like a truck, but it will ride better than truck doing what it can

I’ve been messing with those trucks for fifty years. 3100= 1/2 ton. All were outfitted with leaf springs front and rear. 216 or 235 motor likely. Great trucks. I still have three.
