Last one I got cost me $125 45k on it

I mean I paid 1200 for my gen5 454, but it was complete with accessories, harness ecm, exhaust and everything. 90k and clean as a whistle inside. 600 for a core just seems steep.

The cast aluminum valve covers are the easiest thing to spot.

But I think it's just a typo. The earlier were called MarkIV. GM had to call the later ones "GEN" because Lincoln had a trademark on MarkV and so on.

Must be this was after 91 mine has mark v stamped on the push rod keepers

I’m about 40 minutes from Cadillac. Maybe I’ll act like I’m really interested and go look at them. When I get there I’ll tell him I just wanted to see what a $600 boat anchor looked like. It’s also very important that he sees me shaking my head and muttering “what an *******”. I will report back on that.

Right. And you could buy 17 trucks with 454’s in them for $3000.

Maybe it’s his retirement plan? He’s like the guy that held on to his junk collection when scrap was an an all time high hoping for more only to end up paying to get it hauled away.

I think if they threw in a Chevette, a Citation, a Corsica AND lowered the price to $900 it still wouldn’t be a good deal.

Well.....Maybe if it was a diesel Chevette and the uber-sporty X11 Citation we might be getting closer!
