No kidding!!! I also love that its a 5 speed. Reminds me of my dads 92 Sierra that I learned to drive on. Those 350 5 speeds were fun trucks to drive!

Can't say I've ever seen a Tahoe with a T400...

I emailed him asking about that. Here s his rely to me:

"Hey pal, thats totally irrelevant & doesn't matter..that's what it came out of. People swap transmissions around all the time.
The Turbo 400 is super HD and great for 4x4 trucks, rock crawlers and big blocks...
I traded it to a transmission shop anyway as a $450 core/ credit/ trade, for a fresh rebuilt 700R4 for my '70 Camaro SS....(and my SS came stock w/ a Turbo 350)...see how it works.

Later pal.."

I'd flat out tell the guy he is FULL OF ****. They gave him core credit of $100 at the very very tops. I meant to email him too and forgot. I was going to flat call him out and call him a liar and ask why he cleaned it and painted it silver over the grime if it worked so good? He's a douche for sure. Those are the type that fugg up things like CL. Thankfully he didn't find anyone stupid enough.

To bad it's black. I mean if it were anything but a Fire Truck, Black would have been great, but I've NEVER seen a Black fire truck. I've seen Yellow and White Fire Trucks other than Red. For Nostalgia purposes, it really needed to be Red and only Red. If the City was smart, they'd buy it back. That would be a great piece for the City to do Fire Prevention shows for the kids at Elementary schools, run in parades etc.

Hmm, if he can get that for this LWB, I should sure be able to get $500 for my LWB on the 84 C20.

Hate to say it, but seriously thinking of parting out the 84 C20. I need the cash, and I damn sure won't get out of the truck what it's worth with a low mileage big block and neewy rebuilt Th400 with the good sprag drums so I'd prefer to keep the engine and trans for a race project. I'm sure I can get a good chunk of cash out of that 14b Full Float 3.21 ratio rear end since everyone with 3/4 tons whine about no overdrive and low gears. The truck is 95% rust free, the cab is rust free, so are the fenders. The hood is hail damage with softball size dents from the tornado, the windshield is broke. Seriously thinking about keeping 1 of my 4x4 pickups, and getting a K5 or K Burb and sell off the rest of my square parts. 2 Square 4x4's, a street/strip ride, hopefully an ElCo or G body will be enough.

I say do it HR :waytogo: You'll get quite a bit more for your truck by parting it then selling it as a hole truck as long as your neighbors don't complain about you parting a truck. Yours being pretty much rust free you could get good money for the body parts for sure.
