A case of putting too much $$$ into it thinking you'll get it back when you sell.

Man ohhh Man is someone ever friggin about stupid !!! Spend all that money, and 5:13 gears and never been off road???? Not to mention using a weak as hell 700r4 with the ONLY advantage being overdrive, BUT, he adds a gear vendor OD unit anyway. HELLOOOOOOOOOOO, How about a T400 or T350 with a gear vendor unit??? Why they hell does he need a Gear Vendor unit when he has that tall of a tire and an OD trans. That is not even a case of spending too much and thinking of getting back. That is nothing but pure ass stupidity and a waste of a beutiful rig. :shitsweak::crazy:

That Gear Vendor unit is a $3000.00 part, not to mention installation. I got a kick out of the front and rear winches... but it's never been offroad.

And if the winches are any good, he's got $500-$700 tied up in each of them, or possibly more. Pure stupidity. And he'll never get $12,500 out of it. Its nice, I agree, but I wouldn't an oz of value to the drivetrain past the motor. For a rig that nice and big, trans, transfer case, axles all need worked over for strength. I'd probably go with a T400/NP205 and keep the gear vendor with that axle ratio. The guy obviously has some cash, the money could have been much better well spent and make a real truck instead of grocery gitter. All show and no go !!!

And I have a feeling you'd break it too if it has any kind of horsepower at all.

That rig should have had a TH400 to begin with. It's a 3/4T and I believe the 4L80 didn't start until '91. At some point the guy must have decided to downgrade to the 700r4.

I didn't even catch that it was 3/4 ton, so at least it has a good back axle going for it. I'm here to tell you, you would not beleive the people that think a 700r4 is an Upgrade over a 400. I see it on forums all the times. Where a guy wants info, which is better a T400 or 700r4 and he gets all this info, go with a 700r4, 400's are junk. I can tell you, I can build a 400 to hold 600hp with about $200 in upgrades. I can get a 700r4 to about 450-500hp for $450 in updgrades and mods. And that is wholesale cost, not retail or what a trans shop is going to charge for the upgrades.
