3/4 tons were all a 10 bolt axle. D60 was 1 ton-only. If it's complete with 8lug hubs and all, you really can't go wrong for that price. Likely 3.73 or 4.10 gears in it too.

Ok guys a little Help here please.
Would this be a dana 44 dana 60 or what?
Also what you think on the Price? I am thinking about grabbing it for my SAS in my 96.

You will have to add 1 more Zero to get a Dana 60 front. I wish I had the cash, I'd have you pick that up for me. Whether its 3.73 or 4.10, I have a 14B FF and I need one of those 2 ratios to convert my K10 to 3/4. $100 is cheap. They are usually $125-$150 for a 10b or D44 front around here. I'm thinking by 78, its 10B up front. 77-78 is transistion years so it could be either. 76 is definatly D44 and 79 is Definatly 10B.

None the less it will work fine for me. He is going to check how many revolutions the pinion turns for 1 revolution tommorow to find the gear ratio for me, But it looks like I am gonna be trading him a 5.7 Vortec with a lower end knock for it.

I say 80% chance its 4.10, 20% chance its 3.73. Doesn't matter really. Both are good gear ratios with an OD trans, although 4.10 would be preffered. I say get it anyway no matter what it is. If you don't use it, at the soonest I get spare $100, I'll buy it from you if you decide you don't need it, or aquire a truck that already has one. I have a 14b Full Float in all gear ratios available, so whatever that front is, I'll match up with the rear end and put it in the 85K10 for my 3/4 4x4 conversion. If its 3.73, I'd have to swap the rear end out of the Burb and put the 4.10 in the Burb, but that's OK too.

My DD 84 C20 have 14b FF 3.21 ratio, my Burb has 14b FF 3.73, and in the shop on the ground, I have a 14b FF 4.10, and the CUCV 14b FF 4.56 with Detroit Locker and Disk brake conversion. The twin 84 & 85 C20's both have 14b Semi Float 8 lug 4.10 peg leggers, which that project gets one of the loose 14b FF that are in the shop. Just depends which Front Axle 8 lugger I find to match which rear end, then the one left over is for the 84/85 C20 project. The 14b Semi Float will be the trailer axle. I've got to many damn good parts. This is why I am so frustrated and overwhelmed with which projects to work on.

BTW, Pops if you're still here. Did you check the addition to my Th350 bulld thread? You won't beleive the crap the previous builder did to that trans and what I found. All I have left to complete that trans now is the Pump, Valve body and exterior BS, like TS housing, Governor, Vac Mod, 1-2 Accumulator etc. But, I have not update the build thread yet to the intermediate clutch pack and wave ring which is where I stopped. Ready to put the pump on. Although I might pull it back apart to air test the Direct and Forward clutch drums. I rarely air test. I know my **** works. Had a seal not feel like it went in right, or if I question that I may have snipped it or tore it, then by all means, I air test, but this all went together smooth as glass as most of my builds do.

More then likely I will go ahead and get it, BUT if it has 3.73's I wont be able to use it for what I want. I am wanting it to go ahead and do the SAS in my 96 which means I will use the NP241 PD that i just aquired, I have a 14 FF under an 89 that i can get that I am hoping is 4.10 but it is in a manual truck so i am not sure what its got yet, I can get it for 100 bucks I just hope the 2 match up, But at the same time you know I am running 4.56's in my truck now just for the pulling abilities so if its 3.73's then I am gonna be screwed with the 4L80E I may have to go back to a 60E

Trust me, the 4.10's 8 lug fronts are more common in the 4.10. I preffer 4.10 or 4.56 in the 3/4 4x4 conversion too, but I'll rock a 3.73. More important to me just to have a matching set of axles. I'll take the 14b 3.73 out of the Burb and put the loose 4.10 in the Burb instead of the 85K10. Either one, I'll be fine with, and if I go 3.73, I'll run a Th400 or Th350 instead of the weaker 700r4. It won't need OD with 3.73's. If that guy tells you the yoke spins 2 times or just over 2 times to the hubs 1, its a 4.10. If he says it spins just over 1 3/4 to the hubs 1, its a 3.73.

We had a K10 with 36s and 2.56 gears........Like the 4 cyl. S10 4x4, 0 to 60 was to be measured with a calendar.

I always spin the yoke how ever many times it takes to make 1 full revolution of the wheel. so a little more then 4 turns to the yoke is 4.10's and 3 and 3/4 turns is 3.73. You will be fine with 3.73's and a 700R4 unless your planning on a lift with bigger tires then Ide say to hell with the 700R4. I am not planning on any lift other then whats achieved with the brackets which would be about 3-4 inches,

So it is true then huh? I had a guy tell me today that they saw a s-10 4x4 with the 2.5 in it. i thought they only used the 4 cylinders in the 2 wheel drives
