Or with a mech pump ?

Three or four pics of the trans but none of the engine bay ?
I'd assume its a 24V since he mentioned frying the chip. Frying the chip also throws up a red flag as to the workmanship of the swap and therefore is now a parts or restoration price imo

Why on earth would you use an electronic diesel engine for a swap ?

THats the beauty of a diesel is no computer crap

A gasser runs better with a computer since it has to have 14.7 : 1 fuel mixture

But diesels run with just about any mixture

I agree with you on that. A 12v swap would be prime but from what i see in my area they are harder to come by and more expensive.

It's a Cummins in a GMT400 frame with a Suburban body sitting on that.
