anyone with a rivet gun can swap a dash vin. as I said, the only time the vehicle is inspected is by the law enforcement officer when you transfer title. trust me, it works.

73 to 80 Blazer would have been on the drivers door panel. I understand what you are saying. it's not hard to swap one out.

what I meant was, if California wasn't so hard on classic car enthusiasts, we could buy what we want as far as the year of the vehicle, without worrying about all the rules.

even if you put a modern engine in an older car that emits far fewer emissions than the old smoker you had before, you still have to have ALL the original emissions gear. so that keeps some people from upgrading old heaps. its all bass ackwards. they even try to control my dirt bikes. its a joke, but if you want to live in the golden state...
