I think those are factory equipment codes, usually in the glove box. If you look them up, you'll know what size engine, transmission, axle ratio, ac/non ac, etc.

I checked the codes for my '87 against the info posted on this site. A lot of the codes listed on mine didn't have any information listed. I was hoping to find an axle ratio listed before I have to pull the covers to find out.

is the order number the number that is was built. And do any of you know what the codes b3w e6c xyt yd5 or yyt mean

The order number is just a random number to tell the assembly line worker what truck gets what, from what I've seen they are quite random.
