Broken slip yoke help!

So yesterday on my way home my slip yoke and u joint on my rear drive shaft broke. Obviously it was from a combination of a lack of maintenance and age. I am now having a hard time finding a new slip yoke to replace my broken one. None of the parts stores around me could pull up a replacement. Will I need to replace the whole driveshaft to get the part?

The truck is an 84 shortbed k10 with an np208 with 32 spline slip yoke.

Any recommendations for parts or part numbers would greatly help

I know when I did a 3/4 ton axle swap on my '79 K10 I had to use a hybrid joint to make the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton stuff work together. The 1/2 ton was a 1310 series and the 3/4 ton rear end was a 1350. Based on that this is probably the chart/yoke you need.

1310 Series 32 spline New Process NP 205, 208, 241, 243, 246, 261, 263 Transfer Case Slip Yoke.
  • Length to center of u-joint... Dimension #1 = 7.5 inches
  • Barrel Diameter... Dimension #2 = 1.886 inches
  • Barrel Length... Dimension #3 = 6 inches
  • U-joint cap diameter... Dimension #4 = 1 1/16 inches
  • U-joint width... Dimension #5 = 3 7/32 inches
  • Series... 1310
  • Spline count... 32

Did you come up with a good part number? Mine is pitted and I don't want to install it and tear up my rear seals.

If it's pitted make sure all your ground straps are good. It's been a long while since I saw one that failed from that, but arcing across the tailshaft makes them leak eventually.

It's pitted so I don't want to ruin a seal in the transfer case.

As longs as that seal isn't riding on the pitted part, I agree with bedwards.

I assume the pitted area is probably just at the end of the seal. I slammed it back together and I'll see what happens.
