brighter better and blue bulb options for replacement of 168 dash guages cluster bulbs?

168 bulbs, what are available options, for upgrading to more bright and blue colored bulbs for the instrument clusters etc? or maybe even red ones? whatever would be brighter in the stock with these black background colored clusters?

Led . there is a guy on ebay that sells the bulbs. Just search 73-87 c10 led cluster bulbs. Good luck.

A cheap way is just paint your bulbs. I used to do this with aftermarket gauges back in the early 90's with model paint. Testors has transparent green (1601T), blue (1257T) and red (1605T).

Also paint the back side of the of the cluster (blue piece in photo #2) with chrome paint instead of the OEM light blue. It will reflect more light from the stock bulbs.

No **** ! Good to know . the led bulbs are inexpensive but this is also a pretty good option. Never tried it myself but it makes sense. Thanks @Craig 85 It's nice to learn new inexpensive ways to accomplish things
