I am replacing the power window motors on my 85. The holes in the brackets that mount on regulators for motors are 5/16" the holes in the motors are very small like for 10/32" screws. The 4 screws that came with the motors are about 10/32" with no washers to keep them from going through the 5/16" hole in bracket. Why in the world did they make the holes in the bracket so large? So i guess i will have round up some at least 3/8" OD washers x 10/32". Just dont make sense.

I think you need to use pop rivets for that. You can use screws if you don't have a rivet gun. I bought a rivet gun since I needed one anyway, they are not expensive.

So you drilled out the holes in window motor and used 5/16" rivets?

I have a good mind to drill out the holes to 1/4" on motor and use 1/4" bolts.

guessing super cheap china? The last ones I ordered bolted on with the 3 bolts and thats it. The "bracket" was included in the assembly.

I got one of these a few months back, great tool I wish I knew the existed before but hindsight is 20/20.
Way better than nut and bolt and helps in tight spots for sure. I think I’ll use it when I do my window regulator.
