I have an '85 Scottsdale K-10 truck and have a question about whether or not the Scottsdale package came from the factory with side molding or was that just a Silverado thing? I am going back all original and I don't want to add side molding or wheel well molding if it was not put on Scottsdale's originally.

I'm trying to be a purist and restore it as it came off the showroom floor.

Thank you for any help

Scottsdale should have had the side moulding, but with a black center. As opposed to a Silverado that had a chrome center in the moulding.

Thank you both for helping. I had already bought some side molding and now I know I bought the wrong style. I bought the chrome in the center with black on both sides (Silverado) and I'll send it back and get the correct molding.

Thanks again

This is absolutely correct. Scottsdale package included RPO B84, which is the body side molding with the black center.

However, be advised one could opt up to RPO B85, which is the chrome molding. That's what I did with all my trucks. I would order the Scottsdale package in order to get the manual windows and locks, and rubber/vinyl floor covering, but then select V22 (uplevel grille) and B85 chrome moldings in order give a Silverado exterior appearance.

Just FWIW -

Sure can't do that with new trucks!

Interesting how open the option selection was.
I had an 83 k5 silverado that was barely a silverado IMO. Manual windows, manual locks, standard wipers and standard radio.
It did have carpet, cloth seats and cruise though.
