The past couple years? The GMPP pricing has been increasing at an alarming rate for the last 20+ years. Long before everyone else started hiking up their prices.

I was referring to the $3000 in the past 3 year comment. (Over 50%)
If memory serves me well, GM discontinued these engines in 2021 and gave out the contract to keep the support (and $$) going. It was a move, the (GMPP) article said, to help focus more on their electric vehicles.
I am just glad to see they stayed domestic and not send it overseas like so many others have to keep the price down with profit up.
Being in the group that does their own complete overhauls, I don't include my time in the equation of staying competitive.

After much research I just purchased this motor. Starting next week to install

I've heard a lot of good things about BPE and a little bad but for the price difference compared to a GM crate, I ordered this.

I ordered my BP engine from Summit about 3 weeks ago. FREE shipping. BP charges $450 or so to ship from Nebraska.
Came in a nice sturdy crate.

Summit has an estimated ship date of July 17 for most engines in the BPE category. The model I was looking at BP350TBICT4 as well.

My biggest imput here is that if I had the money to buy a new badass engine I would definitely want it to be balanced.

I ordered from Summit on April 25th and received May 2nd
Last one they had but they should be available from Summit soon.

The Summit site tells how many they have in stock. They had 9 when I ordered, but they were all gone within a week.
Mine shipped from the Ohio whse. My buddy ordered a 383 and his came from Texas.
I'm sure Summit is high on the list to get BP engines restocked............

As info and my 2 cents:

Flat tappet cam, better use the zinc additive.
Also, if you need it....... better check to see if you can bolt up a fuel pump.
The '87 - '95 GM TBI engine I bought (and sold) wasn't cut for the fuel pump uses electric one.
