Hello All,
Hey making progress on my 76 and looking to purchase headers. running a 454. I did lower it with a 6-8 inch drop. I have been told that long tube heads will have ground clearance issues. Any recommendations on what header to use. Thanks
thanks

I have a 3/4 ton 2wd SM465 with a 454 in it.
For headers we used a set for a 1968-72 Nova.
Only one tube needed a slight hammering on the driver side for extra Z-bar clearance.

As you can see from the lower photos, there is no issue with ground clearance with the car headers.
They tuck way up in the chassis for me.

Here I had to lean way down to see the collectors.

These rusty ones were given to me by a friend that no longer needed them.
They will eventually be replaced by a new set that has thick flanges and are ceramic coated.
The flex piping will also be replaced when I put a new 3 inch system under there...

I don't have any 2wd experience but I run Sanderson shortys on the 454 in my Blazer. For me they fit perfect with no mods but I've read where a guy with a 2wd frame (converted to 4wd) had to notch the rails a little.

Yep, '68+ Nova headers fit well, as do headers meant for '64-'72 Chevelle. Depending on brand, they may or may not be the same header.

Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers, Nickel/chrome for rust prevention or ceramic coating. Also available, extra, a Y pipe for a single cat and O2 sensor bung if you need to pass emission testing.

I don't know if they will clear the heavier A arms of the C30. No problems with my lowered 1982 C1500.
