best rear gear ratio for mi

the problem with 3.08 gears if you have an underpowered motor those 3.08 are gonna suck. That why I was curious about details on the 355

I usually go 3.42 without overdrive, or 3.73 with an overdrive trans.

Agree, 3.08's in my K10 sucks, under powered motor (stock 350/700r4) and hills/mountains. Hell only time I can gain speed without kicking it down is going down hill.

3.08 is already good overall gear for a driver
+2 With a 350+ engine not pulling a load, with STOCK dia tires, a 3.08 in a 10 bolt works fine as a daily driver. Assuming your not climbing a bunch of hills.

If you've set on taking the plunge and have to swap out the gears, you prolly want to throw in a posi while you have it open (assuming you don't already have posi).
