Beech 18, miltary C45 are my favorites also. Goes way back to watching "Sky King" on Saturday mornings.
I have moved a couple of them for friends with my 1979 BB powered K30.
There is one nearby that is used at a parachute jump school. They have had 14 jumpers in it.
Another closeby that needs wings as it's were destroyed in a fire of an equipment storage building.

Almost nothing beats the sound of the round engines.

Have you ever seen the guy who does aerobatics with his Beech 18? It’s a lot of low g maneuvers but it’s one of the most impressive shows I’ve seen. That big plane shouldn’t be doing what it does!

The fellow that has the "jump Beech" has demonstrated takeoffs shorter than many ultralights.

I’m a little delayed on updates but I’ve got the cylinders installed and torqued. A whopping 50 ft-lbs on the big nuts and 25 ft-lbs on the little ones.

The second picture is of a broken bracket that I removed and there was obviously a previous repair.

Finally got to use my tungsten bucking bar.

Baffle installed, the previous bracket was flat and the attaching point on the engine isn’t so I figured that’s why it broke. I put a little bend in it so there was no tension when I bolted it down.

It’s definitely some ****** 1930’s engineering.

Yes I was an Audi tech.

I believe the term is “grease monkey”. I’ve got a friend who’s worked at a couple Audi dealerships near Detroit. He’s been at the current one for about 15 years. The more I know about them the less likely I am to own one.
