I'd like to add an auxillary battery to my '77 K20. Does anyone make a direct bolt tray to fit the driver's side?

If you don't care about a symmetrical look, you could do a back to back CUCV battery setup. Hillbilly Wizard sells the setup for $65.

I am curious about this also. Given my limited research of this subject, I understand that a factory setup can be duplicated with parts from certain 1 ton trucks.

Limited research because then I stopped wondering about it. OE parts are available.

My 83 is a camper special, and it has the second tray. I could post up some pictures if you'd like. It doesn't look as though it would be too difficult to do. Also all of the 6.2l diesel trucks should have the second battery as well. Not sure if it would be a direct bolt in though.

Hay, yeah that's right! Good sources, thanks @Dutch Rutter
I'm interested to see the pics if it's not too much trouble. I gather it looks almost exact the passenger side...Bolts to the fender and has the tall stand next to the radiator?

Finding used parts should be easy enough -when knowing what trucks to source from.

LMC has the driver side battery tray available. I used it when I moved my battery to the driver's side for my LS swap.

That's pretty much what I'm seeing as well. I'll snap some shots after work today and post them up.

If I remember correctly, I bought my trays from LMC.

Here's a picture of the stock one in my 83 hopefully its clear enough to see, and helps someone out. The LMC ones are probably the exact same.

Thanks for the image. Yes, LMC has the whole set up for about $45. I think I'll go that route.

I'd have to go look to be sure, but I think the '73-'80 AUX battery tray is different. Either way, the parts are out there.

I expected that tray to be rotated 90°...
Not a big deal, that's close enough for these purposes. Thanks Cubo.

No worries, I'm not sure why it posted that way. for $45 the LMC ones would be better then freezing in the junk yards finding a rusted up one. by the looks of mine. I'm thinking either it was never used or totally replaced at one point.
