Auxiliary cooling fan

Hey fellas,

Since it's summer, of course, I use the A/C in my Goldie. California pushes some hot ones!!
You can hang meat inside when I'm cruising down the highway, not bad for a 30 year old system, but naturally in stop and go traffic it dies out.
Anybody know or have any suggestions about putting a cooling fan in front of the condenser to help?

They came in later suburbans and maybe trucks as well. I put one in my truck and it was basically bolt in. I then wired it to a toggle switch. Now if my ac system only worked.....

Did you mount it in front of condenser?

Here's the factory fan for 81-87 20/30 series trucks and suburbans with the Z82 tow package. I know my 454 93 & '95 Suburbans had them too. The mounts are different though.

Yeah and use the ac power wire at the condenser with a relay and pow
Comes on with the AC
When I do my VA setup it’s what I’ll do

i have the same issue in my 90 suburban that has been converted to r134. i have been looking at aux fans, but i have the tow package with all the auxillary coolers (oil and tranny), and there isn't a lot of room. i could probably handle a 2in thick fan at most and I'd have to fab up some brackets to mount it because i don't like the zip ties that go through the condenser mounting style for a 4x4 that sees some offroad. looking forward to seeing other ideas. i can live with it as is, but the around town performance definitely leaves something to be desired when its 90 or above.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue...lol
Actually my wife's Trailblazer and my daily driver Jeep both die out during stop and go.
They both don't have condenser fans....
