Are these vacuum ports?

I put the screw so you guys can see what I’m talking about. I was searching for vacuum leaks and there was a cracked vacuum cap on this plastic piece that was sticking out where I have the screw in. In the first pic, you can see that I put a new cap on the other line coming out of manifold. Is this egr, or just ports? I see pics of egr and it looks further back on passenger side, almost between carb and distributor, but there isn’t anything on this intake.

Does appear to be the choke stove. Exhaust gas heats a tube inside to provide heated air to choke thermostat. With the Edelbrock carb it isn't needed. No vacuum should be present.

Also that choke "stove" could make an exhaust racket if not plugged!!!

I don't think they are part of the exhaust are they? I always thought it was just closed off port that sits inside a water jacket.

Nope, I think that goes into the heated crossover in the intake manifold....you know the part you always have to clean out the carbon buildup??

There should not be any exhaust present. If there is they are rotted out, a distinct possibility given age. Have to remember the vacuum source was small passages in the carburetor. Would get plugged up in no time.

NO, Unless your intake is rotted or rusted out and I'd find that hard to happen and have never seen or heard of such a thing. To the best of my recallection, you can pull the pipes out and leave them unblocked and not a thing will happen. NO vac leak, no exhaust leak, no water leak, nothing. Shouldn't affect how the truck runs at all other than maybe a tougher cold start unless you have another choke method in use which is entirely possible also.

AFAIK, my my Edelbrock intake came with a choke stove block off plate, and I think they sell aftermarket replacements. My aluminum heads don’t have an exhaust crossover, so it I don’t think it would do anything anyway.
