Anyone here drive a 96-00 Chevy Truck?

Was wondering if you could identify what this bracket is. Its either something with the PS or a hook when they dropped the block in at assembly. Hooks are everywhere on 4N vehicles - I've never seen a hook on any American car, so dunno.

Its a lift point that is bolted to the side of the block under the exhaust manifolds. Since the vortec manifolds are plastic, it gives a good hoist point for moving the engine around without breaking anything.

I've been collecting all the various brackets for my accessories and that one seemed a tad too over the top for a PS pump. Thanks much!

if you wanted to see hooks on an american car, here you go the rear one is barely peeking up but its behind a purge valve for emissions.
