I know I need to get a pair. Having to prop up my fiberglass hood all the time is getting old.

I'm also curious how they would work with a stock hood. I'm assuming your hinges are in good shape and have been lubed up?

Yeah they're in good shape and were lubed. I tore the front end down the other day and yanked the engine. Now they hinges have been pressure washed (hey, they're gray again) and I'm going to paint them, figured I'd do some new springs as well. I'm guessing the high tension version might be ok with the steel hood but I'd rather be sure before dropping $40 on some damn springs :)

when you close your hood do NOT pull it straight down. push it in(towards the windshield) at the same time you pull it down. doing it that way and properly lubed hinges and you will never bend the hood. plus it will close real easy. highdesertranger

After getting a slight bend in my brand new hood using new hinges and springs, I ordered a pair of low tension springs from Jegs. They work great and there is still plenty of tension to hold the hood up. I only wish I had put the low tension springs on the same time I replaced the hood.
