Is there anything special to use or try to clean up the aluminum trim insert pieces for the cluster and the side inserts on the doors?

I'm not sure what can be done with them. There's a coating of some kind on them that would need stripped off of them.

mine at least is plastic. I'd do a very very fine sand or maybe just steel wool the aluminum look places. Tape everything off carefully and respray with aluminum color paint that plays well with plastic, then clear coat. That's about all I know of that can be done.

It's actually a very thin aluminum overlay that is stuck on the basic plastic bezel.

You can use one of these Molotow pens to "re-chrome" around the gauges. Heres' mine.

Scrub lengthwise with the original brushed finish. Going around in circles with steel wool will make it look worse. Could try experimenting on some aluminum scrap with various grits of sandpaper to come up with a look close to the original finish.

Isn't even worth $0.88. I use to buy tons of that stuff. To me it doesn't cover well, sucks and doesn't layer well. I have been using Rust-Oleum 2x the last few years. It shoots out well and covers great. To me it's worth the extra money. Get great results.

Took me a long time to learn this one. I was a hard core cheap paint guy until I did a big paint project and layer after layer wouldn't cover well. To me rust-oleum 2X ends up being cheaper, because there are fewer coats of paint and a lot less of my time. win win. Sorry Rusty
