always been a truck guy. My first build. Hi nickel block out of a 59 impala, (cool car), Jahns forged pistons, balanced, also the first motor I put together, Oh yeah, a "3/4" cam from JC Whitney, Thats how long ago...

Good ole JC Whitney! Ordered a set of .125 over 283 pistons from JC Whitney, must have been in 1965. Was building a 301, 30-30 Duntov, fuelie(1.94) heads, with an AFB and the factory cast manifold from a 300 horse 327. Cost a LOT of money back then. Probably $200-$300, with machine work and total parts!!!!! HURT my pocket!! Got quite a bit of "stuff" from Gratiot Auto Supply, too!!..........Thanks @Craig Nedrow for the memories!!!

I have a 1967 Buick 430 wildcat engine for a future project. Are these pretty good?

Good running engines,lots of usable torque about the same weight as an sbc.
