Any lifted snow plow trucks ????

I'm planning on installing a 7.5 BOSS snow plow on my truck. As of right now It has a 4" Superlift part #01-234-06 My truck is a 6.2 soon to be a 454. The truck sags pretty bad on the driver side about 1.75"

So I called Superlift today and told them my deal. The guy named Mike told me my 3/4ton truck with a 6.2 or a 454 should have the HD 4" front leafs. Mine are NOT. He's also telling me that that's probably why it has a 1.75" sag. He told me to swap out my springs with there 4" HD 01-234 springs, and these will be ok for my snow plow and will solve the 1.75" drop issue on the driver side.

Here is a picture of my truck... What do you think??

Superlift spring's are not the greatest , IMO. But yes , I had a 1978 square with a 4" and 33's with a western plow on it , worked great . I installed the plow gear on the truck like normal and then raised the pin hole mounts on the blade's frame work up 4" or so (until the frame work sat flat with the ground) and put large gusset's to beef it up and I plowed for year's with that set up. I will see if I can dig up a pic for you , nice looking truck you got there.

Check your spring bushings to see if they are worn and are in need of replacing.

Getting the plow frame level with the ground will make or break a plow truck in a hurry. My 80 K2500 with an add a least in the front on 33s sits about 2" too high. It's never plowed for crap compared to my 77 K20 with the exact same blade on it. I need to modify the mount on the truck to move the pivot down lower to get that frame level.

That's what was thinking.. If I remember correct, I think the mount needs to be like 15 or 16" from the ground for the best postion.

I think I will probably remove the 4" superlift and go with what ever springs will alow 285/75-16

I think a 1" or 2" will alow that with 700 + LBS hanging on the front end, and a BB 454, but I'm not for sure???

Ok so are you saying your 20 K2500 has the stock front springs with just add a leaf , and 33" and it's to high for your plow?

All I did was leave the gear on the truck stock and modded the frame work of the blade so it sat level (because I did'nt want the gear to hang down to low) and it worked perfect for years , (used for parking lots) , and I could still use the truck to play off road without banging up the plow gear and keep it lifted (4"). It was kind of cool , 33x12.50 tire's chained up on all four , ( hooked up and pushed snow really good with that much chain on the ground). But to each their own

Yes. There is no more adjustment to move it down more.... Yet. Ill be modifying it before I bring it back out after the body swap.
