Buy the cheap Chinese crap from Autozone. It's got a lifetime warranty right? Does that offset the amount of frustration, inconvenience and time it takes to go thru the drill of replacing it again?

Nice to hear from you, its been a spell?
been doing a lot to yard and cleaning a garage with so much **** in it its not even funny. Then had to clear up mold and repaint walls. Mold being an issue for my skin it had to be done delicately. Cut out some cabinets with a sawzall, prob looked like a methhead going for abandoned house wiring with how fun it was

Im also been working on painting outdoor decorations for my grandma. Im between jobs but its something that she wants done and is comfortable covering cost of living + minor bills and some side cash(not a lot, sadly no square stuff atm) but It allows me time to do things like this cowboy and soon the goose

The A6 and R4 (which is still not a good compressor) can both be retrofitted (you pull out the 'bird cage', if it has a ceramic seal) to the newer, double lip seal. Only way I have seen them not sling oil. I've done quite a few.
The same seal also fits the V5 compressor, which didn't get this seal in production until around '99, even though FSM's say otherwise.

OOO my V5 is 99 model year, probably built in 98. my 99 aurora probably has a V5 too same situation

OOO my V5 is 99 model year, probably built in 98. my 99 aurora probably has a V5 too same situation
Case corrosion makes the V5s leak at the body o-rings too. They didn't have such and issue with this when painted.

Its a newer design, late 80s or early 90s, it doesnt cycle. So when the compressor is commanded on by switch or module, it will energize and not disengage unless commanded off for WOT, turn car off, turn ac off, etc. The displacement is variable so it can be low or high etc. the advantage of that kind is no felt or engine-bogging when the compressor would normally be engaging or disengaging. its ultimately not a huge deal in a big v8 but smaller engines get hit HARD when the engine is loaded or unloaded and the vibrations are usually harsh in a small eco car. but Its a nice compressor quality wise in my opinion at least they come in many variations of mounting. mine has just two 12 and 6 ears.
