@Rick R , thanks for the reply. The second wire was cut at fuse block as you see and no second fuse holder. After all the input, we were under the impression that trying to re install the ammeter and have some semblance of reliable information was maybe a pipe dream. We could not get a voltmeter as everyone has been backordered for quite some time is why we were going to try and fix ammeter. He learned that in 76 they went to all volt meters and Easton decided he wanted to go that route. Finally got a new voltmeter yesterday from Classic Industries and started the jumper wire mod which we will finish Saturday if he does not have baseball.
We are just leaving the fuse out of the one ammeter line that we have to keep power from the mounting points in the cluster and stealing power for the voltmeter from the temp gauge and grounding it back there as well.
He chose this route as path of least resistance since we have to open cluster and replace fuel gauge that has a bad resistor as well
