I use this one,

http://www.harborfreight.com/25-hor...-cast-iron-vertical-air-compressor-67847.html

Its been a great compressor considering how much I abuse it. Its just big enough to run a D/A sander, you have to stop and let it cool off every once in a while but I managed to sand my hood and tailgate using this compressor. You cant beat the price.

As far as other harbor freight air tools, I think they all kick major ass. I now have a D/A sander, Earthquake impact (very bad ass), 3/8's pnumatic drill and a little angle head dye grinder.

Almost forgot to mention their HVLP gun they sell for like 10 bucks. I used to use a friends Sata HVLP at the paint shop he owned and this HF one does the same work I think. It sprayed paint for me very nicely.

I will use it on my air compressor to spray primer at home but next time I do a paint job I will most likely just rent a paint booth at night and put my gun on their air system to avoid an elaborate air drying system at home.

Do you know what kinda CFM you're pushing with that compressor?

The C-man compressor I have was made by Devilbess in the USA.

Devilbess is a Ingersol Rand product. My 5200 Watt Generator is also a Devilbess. That thing sure worked for the tornado recovery.

Not sure but its chingon, if you get hot rod magazine they usually have a coupon page and sell these things like hot cakes, you might be able to score one for 150 bucks or so. My favorite part is the size, big enough to do some damage with air tools but you can roll it around your garage or roll it outside if you need.

The one Iman has is rated 4.7 cfm @ 90 psi and 5.8 cfm @ 40 psi.

Which is NOT very desirable for running air tools. It will work though. I also have one about that size, it's also an Ingersol Rand and is a Oiless too. 5.5hp 20 gallon.

With one like that, you might need to break loose 2-3 lug nuts and let the unit build the pressure back up. I adjusted mine so it comes back on quicker. I think it was like 125mx where it would shut off, and comes back on at 100. I have it come back on 110lbs so it has a better chance of keeping 90psi in the tank.

...and you're not going to get the rated cfm at the end of the hose. When I ran my sandblasting pot on the end of 100' of line I had to crank the pressure switch way up to get the same performance it had with a shorter hose.

I never even gave any thought to that making a difference. Luckily, when I use the little compressor, it's at the end of the garage plugged in and I only have a 25foot hose on it. If need the 100 foot hose, it's on the 5hp 60gallon compressor and usually on needed to reach the street for an air up or in the neighbors driveway for an air up.
