What a matta? 2/70 A/C aint good enough?

:roflbow:

It's hot as hell in the midwest. I'm driving my 24 valve and letting the burb sit just for the AC. Even though the gas mileage is 4-5 mpg better in the burb. It's been about 107 in Wichita.

Yeah, a little more than that, maybe taller too.

Hopefully between the few threads and members you won't have any trouble with an AC coversion. Best part is, it'll be OEM not aftermarket.

this is how i handled converting my firewall to an ac firewall

this truck also had some weird aftermarket ac in it

i cut the red part out of a ac suburban

if you cut a peice from a donor cut it big and use the holes that match up to line it up. then use self tapping screws to hold it in place (i screwed on the edge of my trim line so i could weld the scew holes shut) then trim it to fit.

you can see some of my screw holes in the pic

That the perfect way to do it. This way you know it's in the exact spot as OEM. I never thought about it, but I guess I should cut that out of my burnt cab truck incase someone needs that metal for a conversion. That truck also has perfect rockers and floor pans I figured I'd cut out of it too. What better sheet metal to replace with, than OEM sheet metal instead of aftermarket that's cut where they decide it should be cut, and sometimes not enough.

I'm aware of that. This is why the cab is scrap. The firewall, and the front clip is what's burnt and warped. It was actualy an engine fire. The floor pans, rockers and cab corners are still just fine. I believe the metal behind the AC box is spared by the box itself.

And I'm the mod here, so to set a good example, I NEVER take threads off-topic. Must have been 89S's fault. I guess I'll follow behind him lke usual and clean up his mess.

Addition: Should be all good now Shawn. I moved the "fun" to the off-topic thread.
