Ok, so when I installed my headers a while back, I had kept all the parts I pulled off and put them in a box. Later on, I moved and guess what, they got tossed. So, I recently replaced all the belts and the AC belt is struggling at initial start up and when the AC kicks on. I've tried my best to tighten the outer belt as best I can, but it would seem the missing bottom pivot/mounting bolt is preventing the pump from staying in place.

I know I will need washers for the bolt to tighten against, but can anyone tell me exactly what bolt I can use?

Thanks!

The problem is that there are lots of variations of mounting brackets - and the AC compressor mounting is closely related to the power steering group. These might help you figure out what is causing the compressor to loosen and maybe give you some idea how to steady it.

Here are the AC compressor mounting components:

Notice how almost every part has an AC version and a non-AC version. I think I got your set up correct, if not post an image and I will try again.

Is there a chance this bolt you're missing is bushed or has a thick shoulder? If so, that can certainly affect pulley alignment. Do you have a Pull A Part or DIY yard around you? Maybe go there and look at all the GM V8 cars for the needed bolts.

Yeah, it's supposed to have a bushing. I would have no problem going to a salvage yard, except they charge out the a$$ for parts. I had an '85 long bed I needed an accessory bracket for (I think it was a PS bracket) and was charged around 20 bucks and I pulled it myself!

Cheng, I looked at those pics and I cannot find the bolt I am needing. Basically, the A/C compressor is held in place with 3 bolts: 2 on top for adjustment; and 1 at the bottom for pivoting. The one at the bottom goes thru backside of AC comp and threads into the front.

The first images show how the brackets were bolted to the engine and the last two show where it attached to the P/S pump bracketing:
