Rear drum spring kit

these are lever pivots for the rear drums. My question is why did spring kit come with 2? I ordered a kit for each side so now I have a total of four. The manual indicated only one per side…

they look like back plate access hole plugs
(the rectangular things)

you gotta put the drums on with the brake shoes 'not expanded'
then you spin the star adjuster through the access hole to get the shoes 'up close and personal' to the drums.

each of the hold down pins (number 5 on the diagram) go through those, you need 2 per side. the hold down springs (number 3) seat into those cups. they just did not put the label on the hold down spring cup for the front shoe (number 12)

in the screen shot below one of those cups goes under the spring (3)

Well, damn. I guess when spring comes I’ll be putting the “extra” ones in. The brake shows I removed didn’t have them and the manual didn’t clearly show them either. Meh, live and learn.
