I’m thinking since it at least runs & drives if I can get it through an inspection (hopefully just safety) and registered then I should start with suspension unless those wires on the harness block look to bad or anyone with another jump off point feel free to stick your toe in the water it needs a little everywhere just where to start?

Its running and driving, but I would start before anything with a good pressure wash and engine clean. I like to get the previous owners crud off before i dig in. It also helps ID any leaks.

Full maintenance and hose inspection would be a good way to start with your kids. New plugs, wires, etc. Give em a diagram and have them check the vacuum hoses and replace as needed.

Pretty much inspect it yourself before the state does and tells you something you dont wanna hear.

x2 on what the junkman said. That pan looks BEAT.

It looks like someone ran over the the air cleaner snorkel. I’d see about fixing that, replacing it, or at least flipping the lid in the meantime because you want your engine to breathe as much as possible.
