'98 383 stroker in a 82 C10

Found a '98 383 stroker fresh rebuild for sale in my town. I would like to replace the 305 in my 82 C10 with it.
It has eagle rods,eagle crank,11:1 compression 202 intake valves,1.5 rockers, 510 lift cam,flat top pistons,high volume oil pump,double roller timing chain,vortec heads and comes with intake and valve covers. He wants $2,000 for it.

What all would this entail to do the swap? Would my th350 bolt right up? Tbi or carb?

What are things to look for when I go check it out. What y'all think of asking price?

He better have receipts, motor spotless , take a bore scope with you to look in cylinder. 2k for an engine and your asking about tbi, why not go right to LS if efi is an option?

Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but, I ask because I don't know and don't want to be ***********. So I figured why not ask y'all who do know. The ls swap would be more expensive and requires a different wiring harness and tranny, right? Was thinking the '98 383 would be more direct bolt up

The 11:1 compression ratio is wicked high for a truck.
This engine would be better suited in a street / strip vehicle.

I agree, because I have a 10:1 354, iron heads and you better run 91 octane, or retard timing until it stops knocking for the way you drive. For comparison I bought a 140,000 LQ4 with a 4l80e trans, for 1500.00, an excellent truck motor as it is low compression. Stay Gen l if you want it simple and relative cheap 2000 is quite a bit. My 354 was dyno'ed at 325 hp, and 330 torque, was balanced, and built similar to the motor you are looking at cost me about that, but I know what I have as I built it myself, (machinist by trade, I measured everything to confirm specs.,) Run this in a 3/4 ton 5 window Chev, but I wanted more power, and better mileage in the end....Craigs list has lots of gas guzzlers for sale cheap, for the whole running vehicle, many 454's, another great motor for 1000.00 around here Central Wa St. In this day and age gas quality and MPG are important. I grew up during the late 60's, early 70's wrenched on a ton of muscle cars, changed plugs every time we were gonna get serious down on the ave. I would hate it now.

In 2002 I put into my 84 K20 a 96 LT1 4L60 combo mated to the transfer case. The 3.73 gears give it modest grunt and a comfortable highway cruise at just under 2k revs. Burns regular gas and gets pretty good mileage considering size and weight. Plus the headers and mufflers give the right sound.

I would recommmend this combo any day. (An LS would be as good if not better.)
