Those particular manual rails are way better than power anyway. That additional tilt feature is simple and effective. They are hard to find though.

Passenger side is so much worse. And then there is a random body tear around passenger rear seat belt mount.

That body tear is interesting. Pressure buckles in other areas of the floor are not unheard of, but I don't remember seeing that before.

IMHO, the floor looks real good compared to what I often see.

Body tear is because of exhaust hanger hanging there. Even more things coming apart, but radio works.

Welded and sealed where back side is accessible. Where not accessible, panel bond.

Getting things actually put back together. Removed newer repro shifter boot and installed older oem from a 3000gt parts car.

Update on 87 camaro. Stuffed motor/trans in the back of an enclave. Will be going in 84 or 85 el camino. I went with lazy method on trans/driveshaft. Left driveshaft in place and transmission full of fluid. Then placing the pan under trans pulled it up with hoist. Drive shaft removed and trans partially drained all in one.

Well, rear bumper fell to some bad prep and has to be repainted with some possible cracks repaired with 3m adhesive first. Otherwise very dusty and somewhat extremly slowly coming along. Still have heads/cam to install and paint the engine bay black at some point as well.

Are you the one who put the LS1 in the car? If so, how did it go? I own a 1991 Z28 that is a factory 5.7 but an automatic due to all 5.7 Z28’s only came in auto. My son and I want to make it a 6 speed ZF with an LS engine. Probably the 6.2 L. Looks like it fits nice in there. Cool car. @yevgenievich

Most years, and I believe all 3rd gen years, you have to cut the fuel lines to fit the sender through the opening cut in the floor. You simply can't cut a hole big enough to avoid it. Well, you can, but it's going to be one hell of a giant hole that drastically compromises the structural integrity of the rear half of the car.

Of all "us" f-body street racers, most do not choose to make the access panel. Yes, many do. But not most. It's not like it is a trick that people don't do because they aren't aware of it. Everybody that's even remotely familiar with the cars know that you can do it that way, but a good chunk of the owners choose not to.
I own a few Second, Third and Fourth Gen Z28’s along with a few Corvettes and I will NEVER cut up my car to replace parts. I just find a way to work smarter and faster. Besides, working on cars is fun. That’s why I own so many.

I know, I know they're breaking tradition and not vette wheels but they look pretty good.
Those are AWESOME. They make the car. @gotyourgoat

The only exception I make for cutting stuff to replace parts, is window motors on the 3rd and 4th gens. It saves SO much frustration and it is not at all harmful to any structure. With some well-placed holes (small ones, just to drill out rivets), you can remove and replace the window motor and not have to disturb the regulator.
